Introducing the Shadoodle.

We all accumulate some peculiar nicknames in our lifetime and for some bizarre reason my most recent alias Shadrad - or 'Shaddo' for short, for one reason or another just stuck.

I am loath to call myself - or be called - an artist. To me, being an artist is a profession, not a title to be assocated to an individual with any given amount of creative talent. I'm a doodler. Combining nickname to the art of a doodle,the Shadoodle brand of artwork was born.

A Little Known Project called TAGadan.

TAGadan.com, the story so far.....For may years the TAGadan project has festered in many different forms, taken many different faces and barely seen the light of day.

Today, the TAGadan project is very real. However, it exists mainly in the heads and reluctant fingers of myself and my TAGadan sidekick who shares a vision of creating a World of characters as TAGadan as their plaform.TAGAdan.com is a website, a webcomic to be more specific which details the ideas, aspirations and characters of its creators.

What will TAGadan offer?

• Webcomic archive - New comics will feature every Sunday and once comics expire, will be placed in the comic archive for later viewing.

• Portfolio work - split into numerous galleries, the sketches section contains works of art created by the TAGadan team and gives site visitors to upload their own art designs.

• Features (at a later date)- downloadable animations, wallpapers and avatars will be made available for site visitors to access.

• Forums - the forums allow site visitors to discuss TAGadan comics and characters as well as open topic conversations listed within the forum threads.
  
• Creators Profile - lists details of the TAGadan project creators, such as personal information, hobbies and inspirations.
  

THE COMICS
The comics section will consist of comic sketches from a range of genres and art styles. Comics fall under two categories, Lonfg Running and One Shots. Long Running comics will act as episodic series comics that progress throughout their stay on the TAGadan.

One shots are more quick fire comics that relate to a specific issue or agenda, where the characters used will only feaure once as opposed to Long Running which develops characters over time.

Each comic type will have a dedicated section listed on the site.

Meet the Kallingtons
The Meet the Kallingtons series follows a disfunctional London based family, as they cope with the everyday pressures of family life in England. Dudley, Marie, Jed and Kelyre make up the Kallington household, which sees it's fair share of fireworks. If it's not sibling rivalry that shouts the house down it's Dudley's inability to handle Marie's highly driven work ethic.

Brothers of Zun - Quest for a Family....
Brothers Grey and Khalif Lionhart are orphans...this RPG spoof exploits and picks fun at all your favourite RPG cliches as twins Grey and Khalif go in search of their estranged parents. There's a consistent formula applied to Role Playing Games and during Grey and Khalif's adventures they stumble across all candid characters and scenarios associated with the RPG genre.

FUT-R
In the year 2237, life on Planet Earth is very different to the existence we all know. The inevitable happened, man built machine and over the course of two centuries, machines came to rule over their former masters - man.

Neo agent Zhar Domingos heads a resistance force that fights to claim back the world that once belonged to man from the power of the robots.

"First they take our supermarkets, and now they take our homes, our lives. That's it, I've had enough". - Zhar Domingos, Neo Agent: Metropolitian Sector.

Next Hope - An England Football Story
Next Hope focuses on the life and career of a young Baxter Whibley, a youth team footballer destined to become a national hero in the sport of Football.

Next Hope is my interpretation of what it's like to grow up into the life of a professional footballer. Baxter experiences the highs and the lows of being one of the most adored sportsmen in the country and hopes to one day lead England to glory in a major finals.

Introduction to My Portfolio - About Me.

Let me introduce myself first - I'm Adstar. Since a very early age I have been a keen doodler - for lack of a better term. I am unqualified (unless a C grade in GCSE Art & Design counts?!?!) and 'untrained' in the art realm, but although I have never actively sought a career or path into the art/design business, I have always enjoyed creating and developing characters.

Style and Traits

I would describe my artistic style and scope as vast, which brings together various popular character inspirations and I also boast my own unique style of character design work that I've adapted over time.

When equipped with a pencil and stacks of paper I can easily lose hours at a time - in diverse and interesting World just itching to be explored. The World I speak of now exists, in a slightly incoherent form, but at a snails pace - it's growing!

I am currently contenting a comic-style website along with an artistic friend. The project is called TAGadan.com, a website where we can both finally launch our characters and musings to a wider audience using the World Wide Web, and more specifically, via a web-comic archive.

Influences & Inspirations

My main influences are Matt Groening (known for - The Simpsons and Futurama) and more recently - Seth McFarlane (Creator of Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleveland Show).

Growing up I have always been interested in animation and even today, at 27 years of age I find time to dedicate to one of my fondest hobbies. As a keen gamer, I also take inspiration from various video game series over the past two decades, especially Square-Enix's Final Fantasy RPG series.

In the coming weeks, months and years I will be steadily uploading works I have produced, and they can be found here, on this blog and at my vastly growing website.
